Client: Benjamin Mkapa Foundation

Area of Focus: Resource Mobilization

Duration: 18 months

Capacitate played a pivotal role in supporting the Mkapa Foundation’s mission to secure $2 million USD from the private sector in Tanzania for the Mkapa Fellows Program. This initiative focuses on recruiting and deploying health workers to rural underserved areas, addressing critical challenges in HIV/AIDS and Maternal Health.

Our team spearheaded the creation of a robust resource mobilization strategy and a corresponding communication portfolio. This portfolio featured publication and documentaries highlighting the successes of the previous phase of the Mkapa Fellows program, tailored for national and international audiences. Capacitate also facilitated corporate visits and negotiations, serving as a critical bridge.

We provided invaluable support to BMAF’S preparations for the Clinton Global Summit sessions, and the former African Heads of State champions of HIV/AIDS conference. As part of our efforts, we conducted an exclusive interview with H.E President Benjamin Mkapa for the documentary titled, “A journey of Hope” available on BMAF’S website.

The pinnacle of our strategy was a comprehensive media campaign, involving the creation of all associated creatives for billboards, print, radio and TV. In June 2012, we orchestrated a Gala night, hosted by the late former Tanzanian President H.E Benjamin Mkapa and attended by H.E President Ali Hassan Mwinyi. The Guest of Honour was the incumbent Tanzanian President H.E Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. Capacitate managed the entire program, overseeing both content and logistics for media and guests alike.
